There will be a 7:30 am service on Wednesday, a mattins service at 10am and a stations of the cross service at 2pm on Good Friday, an Easter vigil at 7:30 pm on Holy Saturday and an 8:45 am and 11am Communion service on Easter Day.
Ash Wednesday: There will be an Ashing service at St James’ at 11:15am and 7:30pm
Wednesday Services during Lent: A BCP service will be held at 7:30am each Wednesday morning.
Lent Course: There will once again be a series of discussions on Monday afternoon at 1pm in St James Lounge, entitled “Encounters with Jesus”. This course is open to everybody and begins on Monday 15th Feb and runs for six weeks ending on the 21st March.
Lent Prayer Time: There will be a time of contemplative prayer during Lent on a Tuesday evening at 7pm in St James lounge. This will start on Tuesday 16th Feb and end on the 15th March.
Good Friday: There will be a mattins service at 10am and a “Stations of the Cross” service at 2pm at St James Church.
Holy Saturday: There will be an Easter Vigil at St James Church starting at 7:30pm
Easter Day: There will be two communion services at St James Church- 8:45am and 11:00am
There is to be a Spirituality Course held at St Stephen’s during Lent. Different traditions of Christian Spirituality will be looked at including Franciscan, Ignatian and Celtic. The course will start on Tuesday 24th February at 7pm, last approximately half an hour and is open to members of both churches. Please do try and support this if you can.
The Monday Challenge group will be holding a Lent Course entitled “Magnificent Jesus”. The course will commence on 23rd February at 1pm in St James church lounge and run for six weeks. The focus will be on the Gospel of St John. You do not need to be a regular Challenge attender as everybody is welcome.
