Interfaith Forum

St James’ is an active church within the Blackburn Diocese Interfaith Forum.

The Interfaith Forum (formerly the Interfaith Council) was launched in December 1999 and since then has worked continuously to build stronger links between faith communities and to promote community cohesion and social inclusion within Blackburn with Darwen.

Since its inception, Interfaith Forum has become a trusted forum for exchange between the different faiths in the Borough.

 What do we do?

The Interfaith Forum aims:

  • To work together to foster understanding and cooperation between the faith communities in Blackburn with Darwen
  • To increase understanding of the positive role that the faith communities can play in society
  • To improve the quality of life of local people by working together on agreed projects in order to demonstrate our commitment to working in partnership between people of different faiths.
